Written History
1973 Mickey and Danny met and began their relationship while attending the American School of Diamond Cutting.
1974-1976 Mickey owned and operated a diamond cutting shop and retail store in the Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona area.

Danny worked as a diamond cutter and sold retail in Santa Barbara, California.

1977 June: Danny joined Mickey in a partnership venture.

October: The Phoenix office was opened on Camelback Road.

1978 January: We began mining and buying in Sierra Leone, and selling, buying and manufacturing in Antwerp, Belgium.

July: Jerry Brookshire joined as an apprentice diamond cutter.

1979 February: Brookshire McDonald was incorporated (BMI) with Mickey and Danny as its principal officers.

August: Mickey became an export agent in Sierra Leone.

1980 January: Expanded buying contracts in Liberia and Guinea.
1981 May: BMI established its own Sierra Leoneon company of which Mickey has been resident independent licensed diamond dealer.
1982 January: We became more involved in mining operations in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone.
1983 August: Through a partnership venture acquired the assets of the now defunct Sierra Leone Diamonds Ltd., a complete diamond cutting factory located in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
1984-1985 Efforts were centered around reestablishing the cutting factory in Freetown, which involved finding and constructing a new location, setting up administratively, and attempting to reorganize with the government of Sierra Leone. We also became more involved with small-scale mining.
1986-1993 Concentrated on cutting and expanding marketing of both rough and finished to the trade.
1994-1996 Joined with local partners in an export license in Sierra Leone, and a mining venture in Guinea.
1997-1999 Because of the rebel wars in Sierra Leone, we became more involved in Guinea with local partners there with an export license and larger-scale mining operations.
2000-Present Due to the continuing uncertainty in West Africa, our new focus has been to become more involved with manufacturing new diamond cuts and technology, while maintaining our relationships internationally within the trade.
